Kernel as system monitoring?

How can I edit Linux's kernel so it can monitor floppy drive or CPU and memory work?

Which line I have to edit? and how?

If there is code in edited-version, please tell me that link.

Thank you for helping me.:)

howzit

to view mem as well as cpu work and process that are being used, try using cmd top under text mode and gnome-system-monitor if u are running gnome under GUI.

you might try gkrellm, it uses the virtual files generated by /proc/......it also has lots of skins to change it's look.
