Kernel 2.6.17.11 - panic -I/O error reading memory image

Hi, i compiled kernel 2.6.17.11, but I have problems on boot

Quote:
hda: bad access: block=29302560, count=8
end_request: I/O error, dev hda, sector 29302560
Kernel panic - not syncing: I/O error reading memory image
I have 3 partitions:

I readed linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?t=463272 , but can't solve my problem.

Thanks.

Have you run fsck and badblocks to check if the drive itself is physically OK? If the drive has S.M.A.R.T. capabilities, have you checked the error log?
