Kernel 2.6.0 problem

Hi guys,

i just compiled the beta Kernel 2.6.0 & everything went fine. there is this great guide for the new kernel. but when i started my PC with the new kernel, i can't access my Windows partions of the hard drives. so do i have to compile the kernel again or there is something else i can do!

thanks for your help!

How are you trying to access them? I assume they are mounted somewhere. Did you compile vfat support into the kernel? If not, then you won't be able to read FAT drives (i.e. Windows partitions) until you recompile it with vfat support

yeah, when i checked, i saw that i forgot to mark with Yes the vfat support, so now i have to recompile the kernel.
Well i've noticed something else. so when i try to run the Mandrake Control Center as a user , the program asks me for the password & when i type it, it says it doesn't know the function "su". with the old kernel everything works fine.
any ideas what now the problem is?

thanks, TheShemeta
