Try to download a new iso image file; often times a corrupted iso image file causes this type of problem. let me know how it goes!

Do you have virtual cpu support enabled? Enough ram added to client?

Kernal panic while installing Ubuntu or Fedora on Vmware workstation.

I have tried both 12.0 and 13.0 im getting the same error.
Then i tried installing Fedora and still got the same error..
My laptop has 8gb RAM. so i don't think so RAM would be an issue.

Have you checked your virtual machine settings to see how much ram has been assigned? You may have a lot of physical RAM but that doesn't mean that you have enough virtual RAM.

You might also want to try reinstalling vmware, a faulty installation could be causing the problem.

Keep us updated!

there have been many reports of fedora not installing

fedora 19 is to new for vmware
and so will be the next release fedora 20 ( 20 beta is in testing)

fedora moves SO FAST that VMWare can not even remotely possibly keep up with it

The Fedora project is ONLY supporting currently
Fedora 18 and fedora 19

fedora 17 and earlier are UNSUPPORTED and basically DEAD .
