Keeping a program running between SSH sessions

Hi, I have a simple question. I have a linux box set up, and I use it by just ssh-ing into it. I am wondering if there is a way to keep a program running after I logout of the ssh session, and if I log in again I can bring it back up. As an example I would like to start a bittorrent download using rtorrent, close the ssh session, and be able to come back later, ssh in and bring the rtorrent ncurses interface back up. Is this possible? Thanks.

This is a thread that started yesterday and i believe that speaks about the same thing.
I bet if i do a search i can find hundreds more threads.

If helps everyone if people who have questions search the forum archives in order to see if their question is already answered
and if not then ask.

Anyway, Samsara said it all.
nohup is used to detach a program from a terminal but since you want to be able to bring it back i guess "screen" is the one
you want.
