kdm login screen problems in SuSE v10.0
Hi,
I have SuSE v10.0 with KDE installed. A while ago I decided I didn't like the SuSE-kdm login screen and tried to change it, only to find that whatever options I canged in the K Control Centre (login manager module), nothing changed. So, after some googleing, I found out that I needed to change a 1 to a 0 in a .conf file somewhere to let kcontrol alter the appearance of the login screen. Which I did. I now want to get back to the original screen, but can't remember which conf file or which variable it was that I changed. After two hours of googling I can't find the document which I used. I know I'm being very vague but please can somebody help me with this. Sorry for the long post, Thanks. |
SuSE might have a pretty kdm login screen but it really is a
pain to change. I'm not sure what you're referring to with a 0 and 1 in a .conf. Maybe it was a UseTheme option in kdmrc? There are a couple of kdmrc files lying around a SuSE system so be careful about editing the wrong one and not finding any change to the system. I'm running SuSE 10 and found that /etc/opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/kdmrc did the trick. There are two options you want to look at: UseTheme and Theme. Set UseTheme to true and Theme to SUSE. Maybe that'll work? |
Thanks worked great!
