Quote:
[root@localhost ~]# egrep "\(EE\)" /var/log/Xorg.0.log
(WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown.
(EE) fglrx(0): atiddxDriScreenInit failed, GPS not been initialized.
(EE) fglrx(0): XMM failed to open CMMQS connection.
(EE) Unable to open evdev device "/dev/input/by-id/usb-MLK_2R052443_wireless_combo-event-mouse".
(EE) PreInit returned NULL for "Mouse2"
(EE) fglrx(0): XMM failed to open CMMQS connection.
could it be, that there is some error with fglrx, whatever that is?!

In the grub start menu, please choose "safe mode"

You will come to a prompt # (root)
Then just type 'urpmi kdebase'
(with no quotes)
to install the missing files.
