kde3 installation

I just install kde3 from the command line and everything seems to work fine, but when I reboot the computer, it take me to kde2.2 desktop.
I want to know how can I configure kde3 to become my desktop.
sincerely, clint

did yo u remove kde 2.2 before installing kde3 ? they are both built differently, so kde3 is not direct upgrade of kde2.2. you need to uninstall it before yo uinstall kde3.

Assuming that your using KDM to login, the short answer is modify the session list in Login Manager which is under system in the program kcontrol. just add 'kde3' to it.

I had a bit of a look, but I didn't find the relevant post but I know it's on this site somewhere.
