KDE with fluxbox ? intergrate them?

How can you intergrate the two to make something like this:

http://kde-look.org/content/preview....e%2F%2Ffluxbox

I hear you can also do this with others like enlightenment. Couldn't find out how to do this on google though.

using Debian Sarge to let you know (incase I can just use apt-get for that)

Thanks

That is cool, I have a gnome 2.8 desktop on my gentoo box, and I changed it so it uses openbox instead of metacity. Try the command
Code:
fluxbox --replace
, this should work in GNOME, but try it in KDE.

Will this still give me a speed increase and not be bloated like full kde would be?

*bump*

Anyone know if I will still get a speed increase if I use KDE and Fluxbox together? (rather than using full KDE)

No, it doesn't work. I get an error:

Error: Can not connect to X server.
Make sure you started X before you start Fluxbox.

Any ideas?

Thanks

you can't use kde and fluxbox at the same time as they both do the window management thing...you can use some of kde's components in fluxbox tho..which is what it looks like they're doing in the screenshot. it's fluxbox, with kde components...i'm not sure what all the programs are that they are running, so i can't really send you in the right direction to download them, but i can tell you by using fluxbox, you're speed should increase, as flux is not at all as bloated as kde or gnome...i use flux exclusively just for that reason.
check out:

http://www.fluxbox.org

and check around the links and stuff there...they might guide you to what you're looking for...

*edit...actually, it looks like it's just gkrellm on the right...and the kde panel on the bottom...you can download gkrellm from:

http://web.wt.net/~billw/gkrellm/gkrellm.html

or maybe just do an apt-get for it....

as for the kde panel....in fluxbox, open a run command box and type in "kicker" without the quotes...and the panel should appear for ya...

I think I am going to try XFCE4 for some time. It seems easier to configure and an easier transition from KDE. Thanks for the help.
