KDE Taskbar

Hey,

I would like some programs like gkrellm to run as always ontop but I don't have any need for them to show up in the taskbar.... is there some way to have it not show up in the KDE 2.2.2 taskbar?

I number of people have told me I can, but don't know how.

at a terminal, type: kstart --help

that will tell you all you need to know, though it seems a bit flaky in kde3.

I've got a related question.

How do I configure the area of the KDE taskbar which show my active applications?

Specifically, I want to only see the apps which are running in the current desktop.

Thus, I can have my MP3 player open in one desktop, all my browsing stuff open in another, and my other thingies open in a third, but I won't see the apps that arn't in the current desktop, and I won't accidentaly change change desktops by clicking the wrong program.

Thanks!

Thanks!

configure the Taskbar, and UNcheck "Show windows from all desktops." that'll do it!

It worked, Thanks!

In some versions of KDE (the one I'm running) the option is "Show all windows" whichc didn't mean a thing to me until your post pointed me in the right general direction.

Thanks!
