Question kde startup DCOP error Ideas ??


I recieve this error when I ran startkde

" there was an error setting up inter-process communication for KDE. The message returned by the system was:

Could not read network connection list
/root/.DCOPserver_Gentoo Geek Land __O

end" "

like my host name

specs:
gentoo distro kde all built from src
any ideas would be apreciated im in the default startx gui now

Thumbs up dcop network connection list kde startup error solved

do not let your host name have spaces in it. I tried all the other recomendations on other forums and a friend of mine suggested that it <linux> may not like the host name so I changed host name Gentoo Geek Land to Gentoo_Geek_Land and THIS FIXES THE PROBLEM I hope this saves someone 5:00 houres in the future
