KDE Only works with root?

So I did a fresh install with slackware and was able to use my kde desktop with root or my own user.

Due to a setting error, I had to reinstall slackware, but this time I can only load the desktop with root.

I have noticed I have a ~/.xinitrc for root, but I dont even have a /home/user folder for my new user,, much less an ~/.xinitrc for him.

I tried making one but it tells me permission denied

did i create my user wrong?

With Slackware, use the 'adduser' command. Perhaps this will help http://docs.slackware.com/slackware:beginners_guide
