KDE not working
I just installed SUSE 8.2. After I changed setting on graphics from YAST2 Control Center. I can't log in to KDE anymore. When I type KDE from command line, it says
xsetroot: unable to open display ksplash: cannot connect to Xserver kdeinit: Aborting. $DISPLAY is not set. ... ... ... ... I think I need to change back my graphic settings, but how can I change it from command line? HELP~~! |
try using the command kdm instead kde

From the command line as root type sax2. this will give you a command line version of this tool to edit XF86Config. Of course, as a normal user it will just ask for your root password.
You didn't mention your vid card. If you have nvidia and it got frigged, just use the nv unexcellerated driver to get back to the GUI if your more comfortable fixing things from there. (you'll have to do this within the sax2 tool) HTH |
