KDE lock screen wont unlock

fresh install of Calculate linux 14.12.1(GENTOO derivative) KDE 4.14.3. if I click on lock icon or if the desktop times out from no activity the lock screen will lock but not unlock. Being new to KDE I do not know what the proper procedure is for unlock, I can move the mouse cursor but nothing happens no popup for a password?

Generally, you move the mouse or hit a key and a password dialog appears. Enter the password of the logged in user in that dialog. If something else happens when you move the mouse or hit a key, please describe it in as much detail as possible.

On my home computers, I usually turn off the "lock" feature. It's commonly set in the screensaver configuration.

I've never used Calculate. Does nothing also happen when you hit a key?

Yes and i could not change the settings I can't tell you much more as I wiped that install. Some kind of bug, I got impatient and re installed with XFTC. As I am unfamiliar with Calculate linux (GENTOO derivative) I was unable to re install KDE. It was to annoying to have to hard boot all the time. Now I just have to learn how to install KDE with this instalation thanks anyhow

Reading that from

Just for info. I don't know if that pertains to this thread or not though. Not enough info.
