KDE Lan Browser doesn't display available LAN computers
how are you doing there, folks?
I am running KDE 3.3.1.
From Konqueror, LAN Browser used to display available LAN computers in IP numbers.
e.g.) 192.168.0.2, 192.168.0.3, etc...
I was using Kernel 2.4.26 I have emerged through "emege gentoo-sources".
I wanted to try out a new kernel so I have compiled kernel of version 2.6.10.(not through genkernel) with IPv6 options selected(for some reason, without IPv6 support, i could not run "dhcpd" therefore cannot connect to internet).
After booting up linux to use kernel 2.6.10, KDE "HOME" konqueror's Lan Browser function stopped displaying the lists of available LAN computers i could attempt to connect to.
Now, I went back to Kernel 2.4.26 and LAN browser isn't working through that old kernel either...
But the funny thing is that, if i do "smb://<machine_lan_ip>>/resource_name", Konqueror would show resources on <machine_lan_ip>...
I still can't figure out if it is "smb" or "lisa" problem nor have I knowlege what to do...
I would appreciate it if someone could give me some pointers on what I need to check or how I could probably fix this problem.
Thank you in advance.
