KDE in slackware 9

I'm having trouble loading KDE, I've run through xf86config and when I use startx I get an error saying 'could not start kdeinit, check your installation.'

I have no idea what it means by 'check your installation'

please help, I don't want to give up on linux just because I can't get a GUI running.

try a
locate kdeinit

look at
ls /var/log/packages/kde*

examine the contents of
~/.xsession-errors
and
/var/log/XFree86.0.log

What happens if you try using
kdm,gdm or xdm? Can you start
other Desktops/WindowManagers?

Cheers,
Tink
