KDE apps on GNOME

Is there any way to run KDE apps (k3b etc) in GNOME? I am using openSUSE 10.2 but do not wish to install KDE.

Also, to install any software in my system, do I have to install the Development packages that come with the distro? These are not installed by default. BUt whenever I try to install anything, there is always some problem with dependencies.

ALso. is there any way to set up guest accounts on a linux system? A passwordless account. What I want to do is have a regular account which I will be using and will have a password, and another guest account which wont need a password. This guest account will have read-only privileges and maybe no access to some of the folders like root, mnt, boot etc.

they shold run just fine. all they need are the ui libraries and such, not kde itself.

you do not need -devel pacakges unkless you wish to compile source code against packages.

you want a guest account that *maybe* can't access /root?? that should always be 100% impossible for every user other than root. you can delete an account password with "passwd -d accountname" as root.

agreed - you'll just need all the libraries (which i believe when i did it was only one big library of about 20 megs) and the devel(opment) file(s).
