Welcome to the forums.

Given the amount of information you've provided, you'll probably do best backing up a few steps and training up first. Kali is a Debian derivative and so is Linux Mint. The latter is designed to help people get started with GNU/Linux and both contain all utilities that you would find in Kali. So try downloading Linux Mint and working with whichever utility you wish to learn first. Add in the others one at a time as you wish to learn them. Then as you are more familiar with the system itself you can move to Debian. Once you have found your way around Debian, you can try Kali, if you still have an interest in it. Again, all tools in Kali are available in Linux Mint and Debian.

My 2 cents.

Is Kali Linux Right For You?

As the distribution’s developers, you might expect us to recommend that everyone should be using Kali Linux. The fact of the matter is, however, that Kali is a Linux distribution specifically geared towards professional penetration testers and security specialists, and given its unique nature, it is NOT a recommended distribution if you’re unfamiliar with Linux or are looking for a general-purpose Linux desktop distribution for development, web design, gaming, etc.
