Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

hi there i'm currently running K12LTSP and i'm hoping that this will allow me to do what i want, but it's not looking like i can so far, if someone could help me and either tell me to give up or how to do it i'd be very grateful.
i'm in a network with almost all the ports cut off other than the RDP port and i want be able to log into my linux desktop from a windows machine, now i can't install any software on the windows machine like NX client ,VNC viewer or an X client and use putty with X11 forwarding. The only thing i could use would be 'remote desktop'. now i'm looking for what would seam to be a rather simple program, such as rdesktop server or a RDP server for linux, i've been threw quite a bit looking for something like this and there seams to be nothing out there, i can't believe i'm the only one wanting to do something like this.
at the moment the current thing i'm trying is K12LSTP, if someone could tell me how to setup it up so as i could log into using RDP or tell me that it's not possible that'd be great.
