Where is $HOME/.config ????????
I cant find it on my newly installed Debian distro in VirtualBox

I don't think there is any such file in debian. I would guess that it is .bash_profile you are looking for.

i dont think you guys understand.
some schools/certification need RH9 even though it is old. so you should not sugjust otherwise unless you KNOW using another distro is fine to use. |
If any school is requiring Red Hat 9 then something is fundementally wrong, RH9 is over 5 years old now and I am fairly sure it doesn't have native/proper SATA support (could be wrong here tho but it would mean it won't work on most modern systems), it's going to have been almost 4 years since any security fixes or software patches were released meaning such a system could be open to any number of exploits that have all been fixed in later releases of certain software...
As far as I am aware most schools won't have anything related to Linux or Unix until college/university level... I am aware that some do... but it's not that common. As for reinstallation of linux... not shockingly it's not exactly hard to upgrade 3 computer labs with *nix machines... can far more then easily be done over a week during the holiday periods... after all schools get long holiday periods. |
