Just Installed Mint 16 to PC and a Few Questions...

I use a Nexus 5 as my mobile phone and want to know is there software similar to the Android SDK for Windows that can be used on Mint 16?
Alternatively is there any bridging software similar to adb (or can adb commands be issued from a linux terminal session)

Just getting my feet wet in Linux and converted an old Vista (Ugh!) laptop to Mint 16

Thanks in advance for any help

Almost..

Not exactly - In Wintel, the Android SDK allows for connection to/from an Android OS (like on a mobile phone) and enables issuing commands to the phone, installing apps, accessing root, etc... I want to be able to do the same from Linux - not looking to run Android - just access the phone (or an Android tablet). The SDK is a set of files that enable the Windows OS to talk to the Android OS - I am looking for the same thing for Linux (to talk to Android).

Anyway, thanks for the quick response.

Since Android is Linux basically, I believe there definitely is a SDK for mint. Maybe go to the package manager UI & search ANDROID, SDK, ANDROID SDK any one of these should point you to the proper direction.

Even better probably the website for Android might give you a link to the Linux SDK.

Must admit this is one of the few things I still use Windows for - I keep it for business purposes, and gives me a stable build environment. My Linux systems tend to be "volatile", but should be do-able on a "normal" system.
