Sorry, since your profile states you use slackware I assume a certain level of knowledge.

You need to use the "kill" command. As an argument to kill pass the pid of the process:
Eg.
Code:
kill 2733
Please read the man pages for "kill" and "ps" (and perhaps "grep").
