Just downloaded Ubuntu and cant get my Broadband to work

Hi everyone

Iv been searching for almost a week on why i cant get my verizon broadband to work. Its a dongle. A Verizon Wireless Novatel 551L 4G LTE USB Mobile Broadband Modem to be exact. Iv gone to the edit where the internet connection sign is and added that my service is with verizon and that stuff but from there im lost..Im running it side by side with windows 7 i used wubi to download it, cause honestly i cant figure out how to install any other version, i think mainly cause most call for a disk and i dnt have any..Also the first time i ever tried it i installed it over my whole windows OS and it actually picked up service then, but when i reinstalled windows and ubuntu, never again has it picked up..iv read allot of ppl have this issue.. What can be done,,? please help

Hi, try to go to Network Connections than click on the Mobile Broadband tab. Remove any existing connections and create a new one with the proper settings. Also make sure you select Connect automatically.

Next, try to connect with the USB dongle. If that does not work, please post the output of the lsusb command.

Still nothing

I dont have any setting to change on my broadband device, when i bought it i got a VZWACCESS CD install the Novatel software for verizon and when i plug the cord to the usb of any computer and the dongle piece to the cord it flashes a few times then i hit connect, it never asks for a password or anything..

AND when i typed in the command u told me on UBUNTU i cant copy it and past it to u, cause im running ubuntu side by side with windows and i have no idea what program to save it on in ubuntu to save it to a usb memory stick..

I dont think its picking up my verizon device at all.. Do u have any other info to offer?

Hi, maybe this can be useful http://www.nvtl.com/support/mobile-b...e-cdma-devices

Look at the links Debian Modem Driver Config_1.1_6 and Debian installation instructions. If necessary go again through the process in my previous post.
