Question JRE on MIPS


Hi
I want to build Java Programs on x86 Linux system and run Java Programs on MIPS processor.
Can someone help me with what I should install on my MIPS linux and where do I get RPMs of JRE for MIPS

Dear friend if you want to build java programs you will need JDK and to run java program you will need JRE ..
jdk also includes jre so try to find out the jdk version for you. google may help you..

Does java actually run at all on MIPS? I thought only x86(_64) and SPARC were supported. If it isn't, you'll need to look for one of the open source implementations, like Kaffe, GCJ or CACAO. They won't be nearly as powerful as the (open)JDK, though. Maybe OpenJDK supports MIPS. It would be a lot closer to the sun JDK than any of the other ones.

I found no java development kit for mips.
You can perhaps find a "may work" run time java.
( Openjdk ? IcedTea ? Or a java simulator ? )
