When using Linux do you also join workstations to the server(domain) like with windows server or is it workgroup based?
Can I just mount a network drive from any workstation on the network?
Do you use the server as a gateway?
Well I'm not sure what your asking. If you are not needing access to a windows network then you can scp and ssh any place you want. If you need access to a windows pc or domain you can use samba to access a windows share. As far as the domain is concerned you can try a product call likewise-open. It has everything you need to join a linux box to a windows domain. This would allow you to use your login anywhere in the domain. It's easy to set up and free. (they do have a paid product) Let me know if this helps or if I'm readying what you want wrong. Thanks
