Java5 doesn't seem to install properly

I'm using ubuntu 7.04 (just upgraded). Now I'm having problems with java and frostwire. When I try to launch frostwire I get the following error message:

Code:
Starting FrostWire...
Java exec found in PATH. Verifying...
OOPS, you don't seem to have a valid JRE. FrostWire works best with Sun JRE available at http://www.java.com
OOPS, unable to locate java exec in /usr/lib/ hierarchy
You need to upgrade to JRE 1.5.x or newer from http://www.java.com
ls: /usr/java/j*: No such file or directory
OOPS, unable to locate java exec in /usr/java/ hierarchy
You need to upgrade to JRE 1.5.x or newer from http://www.java.com
ls: /opt/j*: No such file or directory
OOPS, unable to locate java exec in /opt/ hierarchy
You need to upgrade to JRE 1.5.x or newer from http://www.java.
Using synaptic I installed java5 and I still get the same error message in frostwire. When I check my version of java in a terminal it says I still have java 1.4 ??

Code:
~$ java -version
java version "1.4.2"
gij (GNU libgcj) version 4.1.2 (Ubuntu 4.1.2-0ubuntu5)
Could someone please tell me what's going on?

1.4 is probably the most up-to-date version in whatever repository you're using to install. You can install Java manually from the Sun website by following their directions. Or... an easier method: install Automatix II. Their repo has the most up-to-date version of Sun Java, I believe.

Luck!
