java rpm installation!


hi! i just installed jdsk 1.4 and can't seem to find javac, java anywhere..

i downloaded the bin format, it extracted to a rpm, then i just used
<rpm -i jdk.......>

where has it installed to?
do i have to create a custom path so i can use javac anywhere?
does anyone know of any good gui makes with java (nothing lines up with swing)?

can't answer how good a gui it makes, but you could do a command to see where it is extracting to.
Code:
rpm -qlp jdk-1.4...rpm

the java should have installed itself under /usr/java
you can create a symlink to java there in /usr/bin or so.

or you can add the JAVA_HOME path by either including it in your ~/.bashrc file or system wide using pathmunge. search the forums for pathmunge, since this has been talked about quite a few times before.
