Java problems
I have a 300 megahertz PPC iBook running Yellow Dog
Linux 3.x. I installed Linux on it so that I could learn Linux better for the Computer Science class I am taking. I would like to compile Java programs on it, but I can't find a distribution of Java that works on a PPC. How can I do this? What programs do I need? Where can I find them? Thanks so much for your help! |
Hi,
and welcome to LQ! I'm not a mac (thus not a yellowdog) user myself, but there's this most amazing search-engine .... http://www.google.co.nz/linux?hl=en&...a=lr%3Dlang_en Cheers, Tink |
Well forget about using Java's SDK (I hope you don't need the 1.5 API) but there are other java compilers you could try out.
With Gentoo I use Blackdown, which is open source so you can compile it on any architecture you like. (Though I am not sure if it is just a JRE, or a full SDK) |
Take that back, it is a software developers' kit (SDK)
