richiejr 01-20-2012 12:13 PM

no can you give me a step by step or give me the command i need to do that to get plugin working for chrome or firefox

jeremy 01-20-2012 12:18 PM

Sure, cd into your Chrome/FF plugin directory and then, as root:
Code:

ln -s /full/path/to/libnpjp2.so

ima a total noob in linuex how do i get into that directory i understand cd because it gives me cannot be found

jeremy 01-20-2012 12:34 PM

I don't have a MeeGo device in front of me to test, but try the standard location.

Code:

cd /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
Another member who actually has a MeeGo device may be better able to help.

richiejr 01-20-2012 12:36 PM

bash-3.2$ cd /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
bash-3.2$ su
Password:
[root@Richie-desktop plugins]# cd /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
[root@Richie-desktop plugins]# ln -s /full/path/to/libnpjp2.so
[root@Richie-desktop plugins]#

it just came up new space blank ? did i do it !?

jeremy 01-20-2012 12:43 PM

Not exactly. You need to locate the full path to libnpjp2.so (you can try locate libnpjp2.so - it will likely be something along the lines of /opt/jre1.6.0_23/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so), then substitute that information for /full/path/to/libnpjp2.so. You should rm libnpjp2.so before you do this, to get rid of the erroneous link you created above.

richiejr 01-20-2012 01:03 PM

i have no clue how to do anything you said i need a step by step or im hopeless sorry the only thing i did was remove the link , i did that right it asked me d you want to remove i put y then enter , but i have no clue how to find direct path

i tried this
bash-3.2$ su
Password:
[root@Richie-desktop Richie]# /opt/jre1.6.0_23/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so
bash: /opt/jre1.6.0_23/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so: No such file or directory
[root@Richie-desktop Richie]#

jeremy 01-20-2012 01:34 PM

Did you try running the locate command as I posted it above? You need to take the output of that, and then use it as the full path for the ln -s command.

richiejr 01-20-2012 01:50 PM

i have no clue how to do that could you give me a step by step from start to finish ?

EDDY1 01-20-2012 07:52 PM

I used this one to get the newest version of java working, there are a total of 3 posts that I had to combine to get the desired results.

Some of the commands have to be altered, if you have trouble post back.
In my case google chrome was the browser that complained about missing plugin it's not missing it's outdated. Also I noticed that MeeGo is rpm based so it maybe available thru your package management system.
