what exactly did you do to create the sym link?

here's what you shoulda' done (as root):
cd /usr/lib64/firefox-1.0/plugins/
ln -s /usr/java/jre1.5.0_01/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so

It might not be working because of your AMD 64. I might need a libjavaplugin_oji.so for the 64bit platform. I am not sure where you can get that though.

Also try linking /usr/java/jdk1.5.0_01/jre/plugin/i386/ns7-gcc29/libjavaplugin_oji.so instead.

Hey thanks you were right, it was my 64 bit, and i did find a binary for java for 64 bit proscessors and it worked!

but then i tried to install macromedia flash and it says it does not support x86_64 architecture.
(but if you look at flash plugin it says "Macromedia Flash Player for x86 Linux" at
mozdev )

Im wondering if i should unistall firefox and reinstall the i386 version?
Will this work? and if you could please show me where to find it, all i can find is i686 for linux.

Please help and thanks for your help.
