Java 7 Vs sun-java-6, one or the other or both?


If you have Java 7 installed but you want sun-java-6 can you simply download sun-java-6 and they work together or do you have to remove Java 7?

Sun Java 6 no longer available....

Hi


Updated Repository and install java

sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ lucid partner"
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jdk



To enable appropriate java version

sudo update-alternatives --config java
To check the version of java enabled

java -version

It's not available no more due to a security issue...I got 6 JDK, that will do!
