Well my problem is simple i think.. I use Ubuntu hoary and i tried to use java 1.3.1
and my processor is a 64 bit amd and when i installed java and tried it
it gives me the following error

# ./java
Error: can't find libjava.so.

and is installed correctly

and is there anyway to run a amd64 in 32 bit mode?? i mean do i have

You appear to be missing a library file. How exactly did you install java? Did you use apt-get (synaptic) or did you compile it yourself?

Yes, you can run a 32 bit system/app on a 64 bit processor.
