Jack server cannot be connected as client when opening Rosegarden
Hello,
I am running Mandriva2005, and have a slight problem(s), i.e. sound usually works alright apart in Rosegarden. I have downloaded jack as well, if I type jack in a terminal it outputs following: This is jack 3.0.0 (C) 2003 Arne Zellentin <zarne@users.sf.net> *debug* global_cf: {} *debug* user_cf: {} *debug* argv_cf: {} *debug* username is xxxx *debug* hostname is xxxx *debug* mail is xxxx *warning* charset has no effect without a char_filter *debug* multi_mode:0 Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/jack_functions.py", line 110, in gettoc exec(jack_helpers.helpers[toc_prog]['toc_fkt']) File "<string>", line 4, in ? error: (5, 'Input/output error') Trouble reading the disk's TOC. If you already ripped the CD, you'll have to cd into the created directory which is either named after the CD's title or still called jack-xxxxxxxx (xxxxxxxx is a hex number). ...have not the slightes clue what this all means. When I type Rosegarden it opens Rosegarden but it gives me an error message with: 23:39:00.108 Statistics reset. 23:39:00.167 Startup script... 23:39:00.168 artsshell -q terminate 23:39:00.190 MIDI connection graph change. 23:39:00.706 Startup script terminated with exit status=256. 23:39:00.708 JACK is starting... 23:39:00.709 /usr/bin/jackd -R -dalsa -dhw:0 -r48000 -p1024 -n2 23:39:00.741 JACK was started with PID=31619 (0x7b83). jackd 0.99.0 Copyright 2001-2003 Paul Davis and others. jackd comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it under certain conditions; see the file COPYING for details cannot lock down memory for jackd (Cannot allocate memory) loading driver .. apparent rate = 48000 23:39:00.972 MIDI connection change. creating alsa driver ... hw:0|hw:0|1024|2|48000|0|0|nomon|swmeter|-|32bit control device hw:0 configuring for 48000Hz, period = 1024 frames, buffer = 2 periods Couldn't open hw:0 for 32bit samples trying 24bit instead Couldn't open hw:0 for 24bit samples trying 16bit instead Couldn't open hw:0 for 32bit samples trying 24bit instead Couldn't open hw:0 for 24bit samples trying 16bit instead JACK: unable to mlock() port buffers: Cannot allocate memory jack_create_thread: error -1 switching current thread to rt for inheritance: Unknown error 4294967295 cannot start watchdog thread cannot load driver module alsa 23:39:01.029 JACK was stopped successfully. 23:39:01.053 MIDI connection graph change. 23:39:01.174 MIDI connection change. 23:39:02.879 MIDI connection graph change. 23:39:02.989 Could not connect to JACK server as client. the shell outputs following: PluginFactory::instance(ladspa): creating new LADSPAPluginFactory [/home/xxxxx/.ladspa] [/usr/local/lib/ladspa] [/usr/lib/ladspa] Warning: no locale found: /usr/share/locale/qjackctl_en_GB.qm Rosegarden 4-1.0 - AlsaDriver - alsa-lib version 1.0.8 cannot read result for request type 13 from server (Connection reset by peer) cannot send request type 1 to server cannot read result for request type 1 from server (Broken pipe) JackDriver::initialiseAudio - JACK sample rate = 48000Hz, buffer size = 1024 JackDriver::initialiseAudio - creating disk thread JackDriver::initialise - failed to create main outputs! I have read through all concerning Rosegarden/sound issues but still it does not work properly, i.e. no sound output. If anyone could help, I would be ever so much grateful. |
