Issues with sound card card
I am running Fedora core 3. I am having an issue with my sound card. It detects correctly, but the sound is distorted. I have searched the Internet and found the problem. Apparently you just add parameters to the kernal. I have NO IDEA, how to do that. Here is the solution I found from redhats site:
After i add the kernelparameter acpi=off, the sound works fine. In
the /var/log/messages i found an entry
ACPI-0179: *** Warning: The ACPI AML in your computer contains
errors, please nag the manufacturer to correct it.
ACPI-0182: *** Warning: Allowing relaxed access to fields; turn on
CONFIG_ACPI_DEBUG for details.
I guess my question is, how do I add the kernal parameter acpi=off. I'm lost and want desperately to figure it out. I hate windows and have committed to keep linux no matter what! Thanks in advance!
