Issues with Mandrake 10 on Acer laptop

Hi All,
I have freshly converted from MS world and I just installed Mandrake 10 on Acer TravelMate 220 laptop with 128MB RAM. Everything went pretty smooth...except my mouse cursor is size of a 1" square and it looks like a black mesh. Also when I try to open some applications the screen goes out, but not every time.

Has anybody seen that before? Any suggestions ?

Yes, I've seen exactly the same on acer travelmate 212tx (376 + 8 Mb) with mandrake 10.0 official. I found no solution (I don't consider reloading X is a solution). Now I neither use the old laptop, nor mdk10, so I have no suggestions...

I tried running Knoppix 3.7 from live CD just to see if it will work. It worked fine. With Mdke 10 must be a some sort of config problem. I will experiment a bit more and see how much damage I can make... :D
