issues removing vmware workstation (rpm)

so i recently installed vmware workstation 3.2, but then decided i didnt want it
i am new to linux, so i looked the rpm manual and searched for threads here on how to remove it

i tried "rpm -e VMwareWorkstation (yes, correct package name)", but i recieved an error

i then got a package list of all the files, went on root, deleted them all, but it still said that the package was installed (i am running the installer again to see if it is removed)

i then tried to force a reinstall of the package to try to remove it again in case some things were a little off, but the "rpm -i --force (filename)" command in the console just sat there for like 10 minutes and then i closed it
considering it only takes < min to install the package out of the gui, i figured it wasnt doing anything, but it was just frozen

now rpm -e does the same thing, and it just sits there

any suggestions?
