I am having major issues booting to a DVD or CD. I have of course used F12 to pull up the boot menu and I know that the DVD is bootable. Unfortunately, their is more: After using a linux distro for a week I decided to try and compile my own kernel using Gentoo. After two tries I was able to get the kernel to boot and run, but I had screwed up the profile at some point and I decided to take some time and learn more about linux before trying to run through a Gentoo install for a third time. I loaded Ubuntu it booted up and I started the install only to have it crash on me in the middle of the setup. I took a break for the night and in the mourning I discovered I was stuck with the ubuntuu Grub Boot, and it blocked any dvd from booting the drive, even with using the boot menu. I played around with it until I got a root terminal running. Once the terminal was running I decided to start the hardd drive fresh so I Fdisk the drive and deleted all the partions. Ubuntu Grub gone, I decided to try and install Slackware, which is one of the distro I had played around with. I pulled out my disk and no boot. I grabbed my Mint disk and no boot. I opened up Bios removed everything but the DVD and Mint booted, but no Slack.
I decided to do an install of Mint, but it failed with error. This is where I am stuck.. One thing to note is the Gentoo install disk boot without any issue or any modification. This is for a Lenovo T-60.
