issue with installing applications


hey there ppl. im currently new to the Linux Operating System and i have started to install Wine. But when ever i do the commands needed for it to run, i keep getting messages like this:
[scott@localhost wine-20030115]$ ./tools/wineinstall

configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH

Configure failed, aborting install.

Can someone tell me whats going on? I use Mandrake Linux 9.1. So it'd be great if someone using this Operating System will help me with this problem. Thnx

Howzit

It seems that u do not have gcc installed on your box. On you cd distribution you will find gcc packages install those then try again.
