Issue with DLink DWA 140 B2 USB WIFI stick NEED A HOW TO FOR DUMMYS!:)
 

Hi folks.

it's my second post today. the first one realy helped me to select the best distro for my old school laptop.

Now i realy need help to setup my USB STICK WIFI D-LINK DWA 140

i already tried every tutorial every step by step without success. i already get the driver from the D-link page tried to put it on work as readme says. No success.

i need despertly help or if some can help me to make a how to or step by step for dummys... i think im doing something wrong. i realy tried every solution possible. downloaded already fromthe driver site the RT2870 and try to put it work. without success.

Realy someone can help me with this?

my laptop has no ethernet connection so the only connection possible will be throught the USB wifi stick!

Maybe you could start by telling us what guides or tutorials you have tried to follow and where things went wrong. Also can you please tell us the distro you are using (from your profile it seems to be fedora, but confirmation and a version number could help)?

Hi.

Im now using Fedora 2 old one because i was told to use a older version of Fedora. and i had this version at home.

But usaly i use for my laptop Xubuntu there already i had tried the solution provide by D-Link in the readme folder also tried this solution from the pages:

i realy get confussed with this.

because i extract the folder.
and tried to compile it no success i make Install nothing happen. also there are talking about kernel version and i need access to internet to install something more i have no possibility to connect this laptop without this usb stick to the internet.

i normal i can solve the problems with the solution on this case im realy confussed.

can you give me a little help with htis. ?

also im asked for a got distro for my old laptop. but it's seems to be the best one is still Xubuntu right?

i installed pupy linux. and the inf file from windows problem solved
