When you "open" the cd and look at it in windows, what do you see? Do you see a .iso file? If so you burned it incorrectly. You need to burn the iso as an image and not as a file. If you look at the cd and you see files and sub directories, you have probably burned it correctly.

ok ... just tried something else...

i dont have the software to burn something as an image at the moment, but i did get a prog called VCdControlTool which let me get into the iso file. I took the info from the iso and burned straight to cd .. and i got an error message on boot .. "media cable unplugged, check cable"

you must install linux to your machine to make your changes permanent.. since you are using a live cd the changes are only written to primary memory (not hard disk) and when you reboot it will be gone..
