iso issues, icewm issues

warning i am a newby.

i just installed a debian on a fairly new laptop using:

htt p : / /w w w . d e b i a n. o r g / C D / n e t i n s t /

burnt the netinst iso onto a cd rom and proceeded to install a bare minimum install with just icewm (on the laptop) without a problem.

i tried it on my 233mhz 64 mb ram pc, but the cdrom cannot read the iso.
is this the debian cds fault not supporting older computers, or more likely an issue with the cdrom drive?

what OS would work on this machine? and is there a netinstall debian business card i could fit on a floppy?

Check the bios to see if you can boot from cdrom. If not then you need to make a boot floppy with rawrite there might be a boot floppy image on the cd or you'll have to download one.

It's usually a problem with either the CD drive or the CD itself. Since you installed fine on that laptop, I'd suspect the CD drive. See if you can borrow a different CD drive.
