iso burn


why can i not burn,iso,s to a cdrw disc,it burns to cdr.

how are we supposed to help you if you don't tell us any useful information...? you've not told us what applications you're using, what error messages you get...

i used several difrent burners nero6 cdxp pro 3 etc,,they are given write errors,i did manage evetualy to get it on a cdrw it unzipped it though,i tryd then to boot with it and no joy,im using ubun 5.10 and i want to overwrite it with slackware 11.

so you're not even using a linux cdr app?? i hope you weren't somehow expecting us to just know you are talking about windows here... sounds like you're burning as a file nad not as an image. you must burn the image on the entire disc or it means nothing. in nero and most other apps, you'll have a menu option like "open image file" or "burn from image"

If I remember right, Nero has a menu selection to choose an "iso" burn. Use it this way. This is the way I got my first Linux download 5 years ago, using Nero on a Windows machine to a CD R blank.

If you still have problems, DeepBurner Free is very clear on how to burn images...
