ISDN and Mandrake 9.2
Dear LinuxQuestions.org:
I am a newbie and want to install and external ISDN modem to my Mandrake 9.2 installation. During the installation, it asked me to configure the ISDN connection and I indicated the external ISDN modem and provided the number, logon, and password. I am unable to find the ISDN access application or ISDN Dial access option. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a Aethra TPQ 2033 ISDN Network Termination modem using the 9 pin serial connection on Com1. It works great with my Windows XP Pro, Windows 2000 Pro, and Windows 2000 Server. I have several PC's on a network and wanted to test Linux so on one PC I have set a multiboot environment with Windows 2000 Pro, Windows XP Pro, Linux 10 Fedora, and Mandrake 9.2 Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide me. have u tried kppp? just open a terminal and type
kppp & setup ure account and see if it works..select the right modem since com1 = /dev/ttys0 com2 = /dev/ttys1 and so on if kppp doesnt work, then f*** it...im not even sure if it supports ISDN..get this nifty litttle thing called 'ppp' from linux.tucows.com... to set it up, open a terminal and type ppp -s to dial ppp -c to disconnect ppp -d |
Hi
configure your ISDN modem as "normal modem" (not ISDN) and use kppp, it works! Bye |
