Is this hardware acceptable to run MythTV?

This is the hardware I just ordered to build my first HTPC, as well as my first Linux based machine. Two questions,
1. Is the hardware sufficient for a front/backend combo box?
2. What software is recommended for OTA and cable recording and playback?

Yup, that should be able to handle plenty, as long as you get the cards working.

Oh, and make sure you choose the right filesystem for the partition where you record videos to. JFS and XFS are recommended for their ability to work with large files efficiently.

Thanks TexMex for the reply.

I did research different forums prior to purchasing my hardware, but every person has a different oponion. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with any of the individual components that I ordered.

Also, I'm looking for recommendations on software to run on this experiment!!

Thanks again, John

I'm looking at the AVerTVHD Duet as well, and it's not listed as a supported Video4Linux card. I'll be interested to hear if it works; good luck.

Did anyone get the A188 AVerTVHD card(s) working? So far I can't find anything in Google with positive result. Too bad; it looks like a good tuner card.

Would be nice to replace one of my PVR-500 cards. I like the one-input/two-tuner arrangement (no additional splitter on the RF cable).
