I still use 8.04 and wishes to migrate to 9.04, my problem is that I can't install kde-core for 9.04 using kde 3 and not kde 4. I only use the basic setup, and customize it from there. Is there a way for me to install kde 3.5 without installing kubuntu-desktop-kde3?
I installed ubuntu command line system from an alternate CD installer of ubuntu 9.04. As it is, just a command line system and I just wish to install kde-core only and start from there, not the whole kubuntu-desktop-kde3 package. I tried kde-core-kde3 but didn't work. Installing kde-core as it is, would install kde4.
This is probably what I need. I have the same idea to install KDE 3.5's kde-core dependencies, but I don't know where to start.
Thanks! be right back when I'm done with it.
and the 'kipi-plugins' package is present : http://ppa.launchpad.net/kde3-mainta...u/pool/main/k/
.....
.....
The command 'sudo apt-get build-dep kipi-plugins' will get you the
packages'-dev' needed to compile / build kipi-plugins for KDE 4.x .
.....
The only way to have a consistent kde-3.5.10 is to use the Pearson
KDE only, do not use any kde3 from the official ubuntu repo. AFAIK.
I haven't installed kde-3.5.10 on Jaunty yet, have "Pearson" on
Ubuntu Intrepid only, so far ..... and it works perfect.

yah, I already now the first 2 links from before. kipi-plugins-kde3 seems broken. it says libnogtk is not installable or something like that. and oh, i used sudo apt-get build-dep kipi-plugins-kde3 and not kipi-plugins, sorry.
