sijugk,

Yes there is adobe flash player for linux. Latest version 10 is available, it is very easy to install, they have a .deb package. Get it from here.

There is no need for you to run through wine. This one runs over Linux.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck.

I'd go to winehq.org and check if you can run macromedia from wine.

Just to clarify: there is a flash player plugin for linux, there isn't a shockwave player though. And there isn't a flash editor. However, some version of the Macromedia suite will run under wine, for what I heard (I dislike flash with all my soul, so I never tested it myself).

There are also some alternatives to the flash player plugin. Most video decoders will player .flv files, there's also gnash, which is an alternate (free) implementation of the flash plugin. There was some other around, but I can't remember right now.

nspluginwrapper is the 64bit work around.

There is your answer, GOLD, most of the program should work.

Which is no longer relevant. There's been a native 64 bits plugin for quite some time now.

Do you mean an alternative to flash player or just flash player ? Both exist.

There's an adobe flash player for Linux on their site, and then there's gnash (open source, which should also be in the Ubuntu repo, it works well with most movies and some games).

Yes but it has major bugs, such as hulu doesn't load properly. Some flash sites crash it ect...
