Is there a way to mount Windows drive when running Live CD?
I have a friend of mines computer that is hosed and gets the BSOD. He has pictures of his grandson on there that her really needs before I fix it. Is there a way to mount the main windows partition while running the Live CD? I have tried it and get an error but I am not able to get it working. Does anyone else know any other tricks I can do to help get my friends pictures of his grandson off there?

Most modern Linux distros (including those on LiveCD) will mount and access NTFS "out of the box"

if using KDE 4, open Dolphin, get the Places panel on and click on the drive.

Not sure I'd use puppy but it is good. It is a bit different than other live cd's in my opinion.
Fedora, Ubuntu/mint, Opensuse and a few others at distowatch.com may be just as simple. Most distros with live cd's can and do mount the windows partitions for you to read and transfer files out to network or usb or dvd. Some make you work for it like opensolaris. |

all fixed now. I used a newer version of an Ubuntu live CD and it worked no problem.
