Is there a way to invert the screen along the horizontal i.e. "mirror" the screen

Hi,

New to linux here, ive played around with red/hat fedora as part of my networking course but by no means am i comfortable with or know my way around linux yet!

Im using a ARM9 SBC that has Linux 2.6.24 on it, comes with a LCD which for my project i need to have the text on it mirrored along the horizontal; for example "MIRROR" would be displayed as "RORRIM" but with the letters flipped, so that if the screen were to be reflected they would appear as normal.

I will be programming in C but i was hoping the OS could do the work for me so i dont have to fiddle around and try and find a way to mirror the text in C. - i have some box's with colors but it doesnt matter where they are situated if flipped on the horizontal.

Any help would be much apreciated. (hope i explained the problem properly! :P)

Thanks,

Jon

Do you mean LCD as in the sort you might have on a microwave oven, or the large color ones that you can watch movies on?

Either way, you will need to write your own special output code to manage what you want. With a small LCD you will need a "graphical" type so that you can provide your own bit patterns to get whatever text you want; plain alpha-numeric types will not do that.
