The other things were actually necessary for DevFS to work properly... You can have multiple items listed in the append line, I suggest you look at another entry and add the append lines back, include the init 3 in there as well

I was going to see what devfs is I guess a device filesystem whatever that is. I just copied my kernel into my home directory and renamed and updated lilo.conf and it worked perfectly. Now I just compiled a new kernel and I am going to try it out.
