Question Is there a Network Neighborhood in Linux?

Greetings fom the land of the Tequila!!!

I'm a Linux newbie, I Installed Mandrake at home 9.0 yesterday and I want to know if there is a Network Neighborhood in Linux. I want to see my windows and linux PC's and accesses to their drives.

I've heard about Samba but I don't know how to use it.

Is there an easy way to do this, just like the network neighborhood in windows?

Thanks!!

Oh yes! It's called Linneighborhood, and Mandrake have an RPM. Try installing it from your CDs, or you can find it at www.rpmfind.net

and a program i like to use is xSMBrowser....so you could also check in to that as an alternative in case for some odd reason you can't get Lin to work, or maybe you may like it better...or vice versa.

Thank you very much!!

I read about Nautilus in another post and it works fine and l like it but I'd like to try Linneiborhood too, but I can't find it in my Cd's.

I'm installing linux in my cyber-coffe-shop, so this is very important for my users.

Regards and have a tequila everyday, it's good for your health!!

What isn't good for your health? Anyway, you should see a Samba entry under both Mandrake Control Center (Windows Shares) and the K Menu somewhere. Not sure where right off the bat. I haven't really looked at Linux networking much.
